The Creative Ones Art Studio - Code of Conduct

 

As an educational community, the Creative Ones affirms the freedom of its students to pursue their artistic interests and is committed to protecting the safety and well-being of all persons on campus. The Creative Ones have developed a Code of Conduct in order to maintain an environment conducive to artistic endeavors.

 

All students are responsible for upholding these policies. Violators will be asked to leave. Additionally, future registration restrictions may apply. The Code of Conduct shall apply to behavior that is exhibited in-person, over the telephone, internet or social media, as well as through text message, e-mail and other means of correspondence.

 

Instructors have purview over the expectations of their specific programs, which includes expectations of behavior in the studio spaces. Students will comply with the expectations and standards of conduct as presented by their individual instructors. Instructors have the discretion to remove a student from a class for failure to comply with expressed expectations and standards of conduct. A student removed from a class for these reasons will be withdrawn with no credit or refund.

 

The Creative Ones has a zero-tolerance policy against threats or intimidation, stalking, bullying or verbal abuse, gestures of a violent or inappropriate nature, sexual harassment, physical assault, or any other behavior that creates a hostile environment.

 

•  Be kind and courteous to everyone, and follow instructions issued by staff, instructors and studio monitors.

• Disruptive behavior that distracts from learning, art making or the center’s day-to-day operations is not allowed.

• Respect our space. Vandalism or theft of studio equipment or materials will be prosecuted.

• Only enrolled students are allowed in the school. An instructor/monitor must be present whenever a student is on school grounds.

• No weapons of any kind are allowed on the property.

• No illegal drugs are allowed anywhere on Lewis Elementary property.

• Smoking is not permitted in the buildings or within 25 feet of any entrance.

• Always obey local, state and federal laws.

 

The Creative Ones does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national or ethnic origin, ancestry, age, religion or religious creed, disability or handicap, sex or gender, gender identity and/or expression, sexual orientation, military or veteran status, genetic information, or any other characteristic protected under applicable federal, state or local law. The Creative Ones reserves the right to modify and/or amend this Code at any time it deems necessary.
